Work-Life Balance: Shorter Working Hours

As Maica journeys on the path of organisational transformation, we are pleased to be a part of it witnessing the many initiatives that are implemented for the betterment of the organisation and employee welfare.


One of the most encouraging initiatives announced recently is that the administrative staff at Maica Laminates Sdn Bhd have now enjoyed shorter work hours beginning from 26 April 2021. Instead of the conventional hours from 8.30am to 5,30am, we are now given working hours that is one hour shorter, i.e., from 9am to 5pm.


The implementation of the historic shorter working hours reinforces the objective of the Management of Maica Laminates Sdn Bhd in achieving work-life balance. It hopes that relevant staff can now spend quality time at work and in their personal life to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and wellness for organisational and personal goals.

This has brought joy to us who benefit from it. Whilst working hours are shorter now, it is the common aspiration of the management and staff that the delivery of job performance should be enhanced by it.
