Asia-Pacific Urban Forum 7

Asia Pacific Urban Forum 7 was held from 15 to 17 October 2019 at the Setia Spice Convention Centre, Penang Island. There were many talks and roundtable discussions taking place during the 3-days event to help charter the directions of urban development in Asia Pacific. United Nation's Sustainable Development Agenda has been time and again taken as the overarching framework to guide sustainable urban development in this region.

Interestingly, there was a talk on place making, especially on how aging places and cities require rejuvenation to make them livable and inviting again. More importantly, community groups who form and represent the identity of the place are seen pivotal and should be integrated into this kind of community and urban rejuvenation activities. In another word, new breath should be breathed into old cities and places so that they are still worth visiting and inhabiting in the days to come.

This seems to suggest a great potential for maiLaminate and maiCompact of woodgrain design to retrofit aging and old building, spaces and places, alongside new built. As-a-matter-of-factly, Maica does offer a vast collection of timeless and matchless maiWoodgrain patterns that one could explore from the below link:
