GREENGUARD & GREENGUARD GOLD

There is a definition by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation which states that Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) means "any compound of carbon excluding carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, metallic carbides or carbonates, and ammonium carbonate, which participates in atmosphere photochemical reactions". VOC may come from the environment itself, or may come from activities or products created by human beings. Very often, VOC is a contributor of the "Sick Building Syndrome".

Maica realises the importance of healthy indoor air quality to ensure that people stay healthy. While the products are manufactured with care we send our products to the United Laboratories (UL) for tests and verifications for VOC emissions based on the requirements of GREENGUARD and GREENGUARD GOLD.

• Products with GREENGUARD are suitable for use in office, shopping malls, and other general public places. This is the most basic level of requirements that Maica connforms to for all products we manufacture.

• Products with GREENGUARD GOLD are suitable for use in environment where there are children and the elderly. This is a higher level of compliance where the maximum allowable limit is lowered even further to ensure that the VOC levels are very minimal. Maica's products are also able to conform to GREENGUARD GOLD.
