The European Standard, EN438, is Maica's most basic guidelines for standard requirements for all products manufactured in the company. It is a standard recognised by all CEN members, who are bound to comply with CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations. CEN and CENELEC are the business catalysts in Europe, and they provide platforms for the development of European Standards and other technical specs, taking into consideration the European economy in global trading, the welfare of European citizens and the environment.

* EN438 sets stringent limits to ensure that products are manufactured to protect the consumer for quality assurance and responsible manufacturing.

* Priorities on product quality, not only aesthetics.

* Full compliance to EN438 clearly states that HPL does not contain dangerous substances, specifically pentachlorophenol, asbestos, halogens or heavy metals (Antimony, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium III and IV, Lead, Mercury, Selenium). Maica's products are fully compliant to EN438 thanks to the use of virgin pulp raw materials.
